Would you like to be a contributing author to the Mexican Pacific Marketing magazine?
This is your opportunity to shine! Mexican Pacific Marketing, a marketing and public relations firm in Manzanillo, Colima, Mexico is pleased to extend an invitation to the general public, inviting amateur writers and photographers to publish articles in our ecotourism magazine in Los Cabos and area (quarterly distribution, 120,000 units per year) and Manzanillo and area (quarterly distribution, 80,000 units per year). In addition, selected articles will be published on our website, www.mexicanpacific.com. All article submissions will be evaluated by our editorial staff and those articles that fit the profile, style and content requirements will be given consideration.
SPECIFICATIONS FOR ARTICLE CONTENT AND PHOTO SUBMISSIONS
All articles should contain compelling, unique content that is coherent with the images being submitted. Photos are very important for the article given that our publications are graphically illustrative of the destination. Mexican Pacific seeks articles about the destinations mentioned herein as well as related destinations covering topics such as ecotourism, beaches, historical places and archeological sites. Examples of destinations of interest include (but are not limited to) the following: Manzanillo, Colima, Puerto Vallarta, Guadalajara, Los Cabos, Todos Santos, San Carlos, Mulegé, all areas in Baja California Sur and any other destination along the Pacific coast of Mexico, from Tapachula de Kino Bay. To submit article proposals for possible publication, please adhere to the below guidelines.
Text:
• 400-500 words
• Title
• Name(s) of article author and photographer(s)
• Contact information of author(s)
• Facts, information and dates of article
• Written in first or third person, depending on the article or story
• Written in past tense (as opposed to using past tense or gerunds to expresss the past)
• Do not make reference to dates in order to keep the article timeless and valid for several years to come
• Articles can be sent in English, Spanish or both languages
• Articles need to be spelling and grammar checked, edited and must not have more than one space between words nor between sentences
Tours/ excursions:
• Information
• Service providers (buses, hotels, taxis, etc.)
• Phone numbers, emails and web pages of relevance to the tour and/or destination
How to get there:
• Important addresses, landmarks or routes to arrive at the destination
• Place names, city names, etc.
• Where to go while there
• What to do while there
• Where to take transportation, cost, information about buses and other means of travel
• Recommended hotels and restaurants and contact details of same
Photos:
• High resolution
• 300 dpi (pixels per inch) minimum
• Minimum size: greater than 20 cm wide if photo if horizontal or 20 cm in height if vertical
• The page measures 16.5 x 21.5 cm
• CMYK format (to be sent in RGB format in order to reduce file size)
• JPG, PSD or PDF format
• Photos received in Word, PowerPoint, Excel or any other program will not be accepted
• Photos need to be sent one by one (one per email)
• Photos submitted will become part of the Mexican Pacific Marketing image library and may be used in other articles or instances with due credit given to the photo’s author wherever possible
All articles received will be subject to approval and will be analyzed and edited by our team of editors. Articles demonstrating relevance and coherence, and that are in accordance with articles previously published in the magazine and on our site will be given preference.
RESTRICTIONS
• No article that is published by Mexican Pacific Marketing can be used in any other publication or media that is not determined by Mexican Pacific Marketing.
• All material submitted and authorized will become property of Mexican Pacific Marketing for its commercial purposes.
• All articles published will receive author’s credit for text and photos. Mexican Pacific Marketing does not provide remuneration or royalties to authors of articles published.
• The submission of material does not guarantee that the article or photos will be used.
